Account Registration and Dashboard

So, let's jump into how to create a WordPress website with InfinityFree web hosting. If you don't have an existing account, then click on Register. The registration process is very easy. Just give your email address and desired password, mark tick on terms and conditions, and sign up. The process is so easy, I am sure you can do it. This time I already have an account, that's why I clicked on Sign In.

Creating a Hosting Account & Subdomain

After logging in, you may see ads in the InfinityFree dashboard. Actually, this is one kind of income source for them. That's how they are capable of giving you free website hosting. Here I have some previously created free websites. To create a new website, click on Create Account.

Under the custom domain section, you can host any custom domain in this free web hosting. We have a complete tutorial named 'How to add custom domain in InfinityFree.' You can watch that if you want. I will give the video link in the description. Right now, I will show you the free subdomain method.

Choose a suitable domain from here. Write the website name you want to create. Click on check availability. This domain is not available. Try a different name. No need to touch here. Go next.

Accessing the Control Panel and Softaculous

The account creation is done. We need to make this visible by installing WordPress. Click on the Control Panel. A notice will come for the first time, just approve this.

On the right side, you will see your web hosting usage. Under the software section, click on Softaculous Apps Installer. Here they are saying that we should wait for at least 20 minutes because the control panel setup may take some time. From my experience, it takes only 2 or 3 minutes. Let's wait. Look, the account creation is not finished yet. After 2 minutes, we refresh the page. Look, the account creation process is completed. Installing WordPress with Softaculous

Type your desired WP admin username and password and remember this for future WP admin login. Then click install. WordPress is installed. Our website looks good now.

First Look and The Need for SSL

Let's log in. Now you can install any WordPress theme or plugin and start working on it. So our free website creation is done. You see this is showing 'not secure' here. This time we will make it secure because an SSL certificate is a necessary thing for any publicly available website.

Generating a Free SSL Certificate

To install SSL in InfinityFree, come to the dashboard. Click on the free SSL certificate. To install the new SSL, click here. Paste the domain name. Click on create order.

This time you need to verify your domain. Just click on Set up CNAME records automatically. After that, you need to wait about 5 to 10 minutes. After waiting, you will see this green signal of 'Ready,' which means verification is done. Then click on request certificate. Now you have to wait again. Two or three minutes is enough here.

Installing the SSL Certificate and Final Review

After refreshing 3 minutes later, you will see this interface. SSL certificate is generated. Just click on this install SSL certificate automatically. The SSL certificate is installed. To see the effect, you need to wait several minutes.

After successful installation, this green status will appear. Just refresh our website. Look, the 'Not Secure' is gone. The SSL is activated. Our website is now fully ready to use professionally.
